چکیده

Traditionally, studies of decision making have focused on situations in which people choose between outcomes that only affect themselves, such as playing a lottery where choices are described in terms of outcomes and probabilities and players have to pick the lottery that they prefer. However, many of our decisions in daily life are made in a social context in which the outcome of a decision has consequences not only for one’s self but for others as well, and where we need to consider the desires and values of others before deciding. Game theory is a collection of models for understanding such instances of interactive decision making [1]. These models make clear mathematical predictions about behavior in social situations by describing what strategies decision makers converge on as they try to maximize their payoff. To study complex social processes, such as trust, cooperation, and reputation, game theory offers a rich variety of well-designed multiplayer games. Recently, a new interdisciplinary field

On an Evolutionary Foundation of Neuroeconomics∗

Neuroeconomics focuses on brain imaging studies mapping neural responses to choice behavior. Economic theory is concerned with choice behavior but it is silent on neural activities. We present a game theoretic model in which players are endowed with an additional structure a simple “nervous system” and interact repeatedly in changing games. The nervous system constrains information processing f...

Economic decisionmaking in the ultimatum game by smokers. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17984946

OBJECTIVE: No study to date compared degrees of inequity aversion in economic decision-making in the ultimatum game between non-addictive and addictive reinforcers. The comparison is potentially important in neuroeconomics and reinforcement learning theory of addiction. METHODS: We compared the degrees of inequity aversion in the ultimatum game between money and cigarettes in habitual smokers. ...

Can the neuroeconomics revolution revolutionize psychiatry?

Neuroeconomics is a rapidly growing new research discipline aimed at describing the neural substrate of decision-making using incentivized decisions introduced in experimental economics. A Social Discounting Model based on Tsallis Statistics

Social decision making (e.g. social discounting and social preferences) has been attracting attention in economics, econophysics, social physics, behavioral psychology and neuroeconomics. This paper proposes a novel social discounting model based on the deformed algebra developed in the Tsallis' non-extensive thermostatistics. Furthermore, it is suggested that this model can be utilized to quan...

Neuroeconomics: Yet Another Field Where Rough Sets Can Be Useful?

We deal with neuroeconomics which may be viewed as a new emerging field of research at the crossroads of economics, or decision making, and brain research. Neuroeconomics is basically about neural mechanisms involved in decision making and their economic relations and connotations. We briefly review first the traditional formal approach to decision making, then discuss some experiments of real ...
